Ann Leahy grew up in Tipperary.

Her debut collection The Woman Who Lived Her Live Backwards (Galway, Arlen House, 2008), won The Patrick Kavanagh Award.

Her other awards include The Gerald Manley Hopkins Award, and the New Writers Award. She has also been short-listed for a Hennessey Award and the Hamish Canham Prize.

She lives in Dublin.
