Alannah Hopkin’s novels are A Joke Goes a Long Way in the Country (London, Hamish Hamilton/New York, Atheneum, 1982); and The Out-haul (London, Hamish Hamilton, 1985).

Her non-fiction includes The Living Legend Of Saint Patrick (London, Grafton Books/New York, St Martin’s Press, 1989); Inside Cork (Cork, The Collins Press, 1991); Eating Scenery: West Cork, The People and Place (The Collins Press, 2008); and with Kathy Bunny, The Ship of Seven Murders (The Collins Press, 2010).
Her stories have appeared in the London Magazine and the Cork Literary Review, among others. She has written guides to Ireland for Fodor’s, Insight and Berlitz. She is currently a regular book reviewer for the Irish Examiner.
She lives in Kinsale.
