Anthony Glavin was born in Boston in 1946 of Irish heritage.

He has been editor of New Irish Writing (1987-88) and more latterly former Commissioning Editor of New Island Books.

His novel is Nighthawk Alley (Dublin, New Island Books, 1997).

Widely anthologized, his story collections are One For Sorrow (Dublin, Poolebeg, 1980); and The Draughtsman and the Unicorn (New Island Books, 1999).

He lives in Dublin.
